We\u2019ve\u00a0reached the pointy end of the season with just\u00a0two rounds\u00a0remaining\u00a0in the season for all State League and Junior State League sides.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A reminder that the finals system this season sees the top four teams advance to the knockout semifinals with top spot playing fourth spot at home and second position playing third spot. The two winners will face off in the final a week later with the higher ranked team hosting the final.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the men\u2019s State League, it will take an almighty effort for Alexander Park to reach the final four. They sit 20 points behind Royal Kings Park for a place in the finals but will need to win their last two matches by a considerable margin. Each rubber is worth two points while a win is worth an extra four points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cottesloe have a firm grip on the top spot but it is a tight jostle for the remaining positions. Claremont have two big matches coming up against Royal Kings Park and Mt Lawley, two wins will see them claim second spot and a home final. Royal Kings Park on paper have the toughest draw to finish, coming up against Claremont and Cottesloe. Two wins will see them take second spot but to hold onto fourth spot, a couple of rubber wins may be all they need to stay in the top four. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top four in the Women\u2019s State League may also be sown up with UWA only a small chance of taking fourth spot. UWA sits 15 points behind Dalkeith who are in fourth place, the two sides go up against each other this week and a win for Dalkeith will cement their place in finals. Last time the two sides played, it was UWA that clinched the win in round four. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another massive match is the fixture between Hensman Park and Royal Kings Park. Both sides are equal on points and a top two position and home final are up for grabs and in round four it was Royal Kings Park who got the advantage. The match will be more important for Royal Kings Park with a looming round 10 fixture against an undefeated Cottesloe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We look to be closing in on a final top four in the Boy\u2019s State League after the top four sides (Reabold, UWA, Cottesloe and Hensman Park) all recorded a win or draw on Sunday. Reabold ended Applecross\u2019 (Casey) side of any chance of finals while UWA and North Beach\u2019s match ending in a draw which gives the North Beach side a small chance of still making the final four. They do however have the mammoth task of requiring to win against Reabold this weekend. A round 10 UWA v Cottesloe matchup looms as the key to determine second place and a home semi-final. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s the pointy end of the season in the Girl\u2019s State League with the top four not settled just yet. There are some mouthwatering matches coming up with a lot to play for, Mt Lawley (second) face Hensman Park (fifth) while UWA (third) take on Mosman Park (fourth). Then in round 10, Hensman Park will host Mosman Park in what may be a match for fourth place. Cottesloe remains well on top, 30 points clear of second place and will hold a home semi-final. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
