Dembo will play Emile Hudd from Great Britian in the first round on Wednesday. Dembo will also play doubles and will go into the draw with confidence,\u00a0advancing to the final two in the men\u2019s doubles at the ITF J200 tournament in Miki, Japan earlier this month.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">On Monday <strong>Ethan Cook<\/strong> advanced to the final round of qualifying but came up short, losing to Australian Arjun Mehrotra in straight sets 6-2 6-4.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The main draw\u00a0will be headlined by first seed Queenslander and current world number 351\u00a0<strong>Dane Sweeny.<\/strong> The 24-year-old Sweeny will come into the tournament as one of the favourites, freshly coming off a singles win at the ITF M25 in Tamworth over the weekend which makes it 4 ITF M25 titles in a row. Sweeny also made his Grand Slam debut at the Australian Open in 2024 and made it to the second round of the Masters 1000 in Shanghai in 2023. First seed Sweeny faces Australian <strong>Arjun Mehrotra<\/strong>\u00a0in the first round on Tuesday.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Rising star <strong>Cruz Hewitt<\/strong> enters the main draw and will come up against eighth seed Delany in the first round on Wednesday. Hewitt will team up with fellow Aussie Ty Host in the men\u2019s doubles first round on Tuesday afternoon.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Hewitt has a strong hardcourt record this year, winning 11 of 16 matches. He was a finalist at a J300 event in Kuala Lumpur and Nonthaburi.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The 16-year-old is the only Australian junior to compete in the main draw of all four Grand Slams in 2025. His best results came at Melbourne Park and the All England Club, where he made second-round appearances.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Other well-known Aussie names include fifth seed<strong> Matthew Dellavedova<\/strong>. The current world number 433 will go in as a contender after regularly making the quarter finals of recent M25 tournaments in Taipei and Sapporo in Japan.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Seventh seed <strong>Marc Polmans<\/strong> will start his campaign on Wednesday with a match against Aussie Zane Stevens. Polmans, ranked 534 in the world, has seen success in the past, making the main draw of the Australian Open on four occasions with a personal best 2020 performance making the second round of the main draw. The 28-year-old Polmans has also reached the second round of the French Open and Wimbledon.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Day one of main draw starts with a near all Aussie affair on the three match courts from 10 AM, headlined by Dane Sweeny on Court 2. Main draw doubles will start not before 12.30 PM on Tuesday afternoon.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Australian Pro Tour represents a series of 30 professional ITF World Tennis Tour and ATP Challenger tournaments held annually, in Australia, over 15 weeks between September and April.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In Australia, the Pro Tour calendar offers a total prize money pool of over US$1.4 million dollars annually providing players with a competitive pathway; all-important earning opportunities, and ATP\/WTA Tour world ranking points that facilitate a players livelihood as a professional player.
