{"id":19396,"date":"2024-03-13T09:52:35","date_gmt":"2024-03-13T01:52:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=19396"},"modified":"2024-03-13T09:52:46","modified_gmt":"2024-03-13T01:52:46","slug":"preston-and-hunter-named-in-australian-team-for-billie-jean-king-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2024\/03\/13\/preston-and-hunter-named-in-australian-team-for-billie-jean-king-cup","title":{"rendered":"Preston and Hunter Named in Australian Team for Billie Jean King Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Australian captain Sam Stosur has named the team for the Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Qualifier in Brisbane next month.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>WA&#8217;s Storm Hunter and Taylah Preston<\/strong>, along with Daria Saville, Arina Rodionova and Ellen Perez will represent Australia for the tie against Mexico at Pat Rafter Arena from 12-13 April.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m extremely excited to announce Storm, Dasha, Arina, Ellen and Taylah in the team,\u201d said Stosur, who will lead Australia\u2019s Billie Jean King Cup team for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have experience coming into this tie with Australia\u2019s top-ranked singles and doubles players, which I\u2019m sure will put us in a good position to get the win against Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first time Taylah Preston has been selected in the Billie Jean King Cup team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m also delighted to name Taylah as a fully-fledged member of the team \u2013 it\u2019s only two years ago that she was our \u2018orange girl\u2019.
