{"id":18833,"date":"2023-09-07T23:53:30","date_gmt":"2023-09-07T15:53:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=18833"},"modified":"2023-09-07T23:53:44","modified_gmt":"2023-09-07T15:53:44","slug":"matt-ebden-into-the-us-open-mens-doubles-final","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2023\/09\/07\/matt-ebden-into-the-us-open-mens-doubles-final","title":{"rendered":"Matt Ebden into the US Open Men&#8217;s Doubles Final"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Matt Ebden has the chance to become the first Australian in two decades to win a US Open men\u2019s doubles title.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 35-year-old from Perth and Indian partner Rohan Bopanna will contest the men\u2019s doubles final on day 12 at Flushing Meadows.<\/p>\n<p>The sixth seeds secured their spot in the championship match with a 7-6(3) 6-2 semifinal victory against French duo Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut today at Flushing Meadows.<\/p>\n<p>Five-time major champions Herbert and Mahut made a blistering start, racing to a 4-2 lead and earning a further two break points on Ebden\u2019s serve in the seventh game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that was a crucial moment there,\u201d Bopanna said. \u201cWe held that game and that kept us in the match.
