{"id":18806,"date":"2023-09-01T05:35:35","date_gmt":"2023-08-31T21:35:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=18806"},"modified":"2023-09-01T06:29:17","modified_gmt":"2023-08-31T22:29:17","slug":"statement-from-the-tennis-west-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2023\/09\/01\/statement-from-the-tennis-west-board","title":{"rendered":"Statement From The Tennis West Board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Statement from the Tennis West Board re Former CEO Brett Patten<\/p>\n<p>Following an investigation into a matter connected with this year\u2019s State League Finals, a Tennis Australia Integrity Unit report stated that Mr Patten\u2019s role in the matter fell short of the \u201cevidence threshold\u201d required to prove a breach of policy\u00a0but added that the circumstances surrounding the matter had the \u201cpotential to undermine the reputation and integrity of the position he holds\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Patten was extensively interviewed by the Integrity Unit, and the report was discussed by the Board during a special meeting in August. After consideration of the full content of the report, a majority of Board members supported a motion of no-confidence in Mr Patten, which led to the decision to terminate his employment.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that Mr Patten\u2019s nomination for the SportsWest awards occurred before these matters came to light.<\/p>\n<p>Tennis Australia were consulted throughout the process.
