Young West Australian Jake Dembo will represent Australia at the prestigious Junior Davis Cup qualifiers at the Asia\/Oceania qualifying events in Shymkent, Kazakhstan from May 8.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jake Dembo will be joined by Lachlan McFadzean (Qld) and Jonas Hahn (SA) as well as fellow West Australian High Performance Coach Mitchell Pleydell who will captain the team.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sixteen countries will compete in regional qualifying, with the top four boy\u2019s teams earning direct entry into the Finals to be held later in the year.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Junior Davis Cup captain and WA\u2019s Talent Operations Manager <\/span>Mitchell Pleydell was privileged to be given the honour of representing Australia as a captain.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to sitting courtside, observing and guiding our players against the world\u2019s best, but also looking forward to seeing how the boy\u2019s conduct themselves in a foreign environment on and off the court.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI expect the athletes to be challenged in all facets and I hope we can represent the country with pride and humility. It will be a significant challenge. However, all the boys have deserved the honour through many years of hard which led to this selection,\u201d said Pleydell.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Junior Davis Cup representative Jake Dembo was honoured to be selected to represent Australia in the Junior Davis Cup qualifying event.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOver the decades there has been some great sportspeople represent Australia. I\u2019m looking forward to seeing the culture, how things work and going out and competing with the aim to qualify and compete in Turkey at the Junior Davis Cup Final,\u201d said Dembo.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Junior Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers also takes place this week with matches already in progress. Alana Subasic (NSW), Tahlia Kokkinis (Qld) and Gabby Gregg (NSW) are competing in the girls\u2019 event which commenced on Monday.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
