{"id":18350,"date":"2023-03-20T09:44:07","date_gmt":"2023-03-20T01:44:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=18350"},"modified":"2023-03-20T09:45:57","modified_gmt":"2023-03-20T01:45:57","slug":"ebden-crowned-indian-wells-doubles-champions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2023\/03\/20\/ebden-crowned-indian-wells-doubles-champions","title":{"rendered":"Ebden Crowned Indian Wells Doubles Champion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>West Aussie Matt Ebden and Indian partner Rohan Bopanna are the Indian Wells 2023 men\u2019s doubles champions.<\/p>\n<p>They secured the title by beating the world\u2019s top team, Wesley Koolhof of the Netherlands and Brit Neal Skupski, 6-3 2-6 [10-8] in today\u2019s final.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re super proud and happy to win here,\u201d Ebden said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet twitter-tweet-rendered\">This is 35-year-old Ebden\u2019s ninth career ATP doubles title and first at ATP Masters 1000 level.<\/div>\n<p>While at age 43, Bopanna becomes the oldest winner of an ATP Masters 1000 title. This is his fifth at this level and first since 2017.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt takes everything to be a top team and win these huge tournaments,\u201d Ebden said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe call this the fifth Grand Slam for a reason. We\u2019ve faced world-class players, every match was very tough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ebden and Bopanna are proving a formidable combination. Since teaming up for the first time in January, they have won 11 of their 15 matches.
