{"id":18224,"date":"2023-02-06T14:14:39","date_gmt":"2023-02-06T06:14:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=18224"},"modified":"2023-02-06T14:17:29","modified_gmt":"2023-02-06T06:17:29","slug":"storm-hunter-claims-burnie-international-singles-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2023\/02\/06\/storm-hunter-claims-burnie-international-singles-title","title":{"rendered":"Storm Hunter Claims Burnie International Singles Title"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Storm Hunter has been crowned women&#8217;s singles champion at this week\u2019s Burnie International.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hunter secured the women\u2019s singles title with a 6-4 6-3 victory against fellow Australian Olivia Gadecki in today\u2019s final at the Australian Pro Tour event.<\/p>\n<p>It is Hunter\u2019s fifth consecutive win without dropping a set and delivers the 28-year-old her third career ITF singles title \u2013 and first since 2019.<\/p>\n<p>World No.245 Hunter, who took a wildcard into the event, is now projected to return to the world\u2019s top 200.<\/p>\n<p>Hijikata claimed the men\u2019s singles title without losing a set, completing his perfect week with a 6-3 6-3 victory against top seed James Duckworth in the final.<\/p>\n<p>This is the 21-year-old\u2019s second career ATP Challenger singles title.<\/p>\n<p>Hijikata, who won the Australian Open men\u2019s doubles title last month, is currently ranked at a career-high world No.149.
