{"id":16705,"date":"2021-09-13T14:32:19","date_gmt":"2021-09-13T06:32:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=16705"},"modified":"2021-09-13T14:32:19","modified_gmt":"2021-09-13T06:32:19","slug":"tennis-west-competitions-and-leagues-committee-new-appointments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2021\/09\/13\/tennis-west-competitions-and-leagues-committee-new-appointments","title":{"rendered":"Tennis West Competitions and Leagues Committee new appointments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tennis West is pleased to announce new appointments to the Tennis West <strong>Competitions and Leagues Committee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Board Competition and League charter delegates authority and decision making for Competitions, including Tournaments to the new Competitions and Leagues Committee. The Committee has responsibilities which include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scheduling and delivering leagues and tournaments,<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing the Rules of Competition,<\/li>\n<li>Effective communication with clubs and players,<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring there are opportunities for a broad range of participants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Board of Tennis West accepted nominations to the Competitions Committee in line with the new Charter, forming a team of seven including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chair &#8211; Tennis West Board Director<\/li>\n<li>2 (Two)\u00a0 Tennis West Competition and League team members<\/li>\n<li>4 (Four) committee members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The four committee members were required to be either a member of an affiliated club, an accredited coach, or an accredited official possessing a broad knowledge of leagues and competitions. The level of application received for the competitions and league committee was incredibly strong.<\/p>\n<p>The Competitions and League Committee now comprises:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chair &#8211; Colin Napier (Tennis West Board Director)<\/li>\n<li>Loretta Hughes and Deanne Maloney (Tennis West Competition and League team members)<\/li>\n<li>Rhys McDougall (Mt Lawley Tennis Coach, State League player, Tournament Director, Australia O\/35 representative, seniors experience, junior coaching experience)<\/li>\n<li>Danielle Honore (Member of Blue Gum Park Tennis Club, Former WA State Girls representative, Division 1 Ladies league player, Seniors ladies tournament player, parent of Junior State League player)<\/li>\n<li>Nick Ognenis (Alexander Park TC Membership Director, experienced child educator, Midweek, Seniors and Division 2 playing experience)<\/li>\n<li>Paul Hemsley (Former East Fremantle TC President, former State League player and current Division 1 player)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The criteria used to determine the makeup of the new committee was:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Club Office Bearer experience<\/li>\n<li>League Co-ordinator experience<\/li>\n<li>Tournament\u00a0 Director experience<\/li>\n<li>Club Official experience<\/li>\n<li>Regional Tennis club experience<\/li>\n<li>High Performance playing experience<\/li>\n<li>Div 2 or below playing experience<\/li>\n<li>Midweek League experience<\/li>\n<li>Seniors Tennis experience<\/li>\n<li>Tennis Coach experience<\/li>\n<li>Junior\u00a0 Tennis experience<\/li>\n<li>TW Committee experience<\/li>\n<li>Females in Tennis experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Competition and League Committee now has greater decision making powers regarding competitions and leagues in WA.<\/p>\n<p>We encourage all club presidents, club captains, club league coordinators, coaches, players to engage in open and productive dialogue with the C&amp;L committee members in order to articulate competition and league ideas and recommendations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tennis West is pleased to announce new appointments to the Tennis West Competitions and Leagues Committee.
