The UTR Junior State Performance Championships have concluded after 10 days of action, which saw more than 100 of the state\u2019s top players hit the courts of the State Tennis Centre (Burswood).<\/p>\n

Held in lieu of the prestigious Australian Championships contested at Melbourne Park each year, the states aspiring 12\/u, 14\/u, 16\/u and 18\/u players competed in both singles and doubles events from Monday 7 to Wednesday 16 December.<\/p>\n

Noting WA\u2019s dominance at the 2019 Australian Championships which saw WA\u2019s junior players claim eight of the possible sixteen titles, National Development Squad Coach, Tom George says that WA is fortunate to have such breadth of talent within the junior ranks.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe success at last year\u2019s Australian Championships was unbelievable. To return home with 50% of the titles was seriously amazing,\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re incredibly proud of the breadth of talent we have here in WA and it\u2019s a credit to our athletes who continue to train hard and work diligently towards their goals,\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNot being able to travel to Melbourne this year is obviously disappointing but we\u2019re incredibly fortunate to have a number of the country\u2019s top ranked players right here in WA,\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe level of competition across all divisions has been incredible and something that\u2019s been great to see out on court here at the State Tennis Centre,\u201d George said.<\/p>\n
