{"id":15751,"date":"2020-09-11T15:34:50","date_gmt":"2020-09-11T07:34:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=15751"},"modified":"2020-09-11T15:34:50","modified_gmt":"2020-09-11T07:34:50","slug":"females-in-tennis-development-camp-to-hit-lower-great-southern-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2020\/09\/11\/females-in-tennis-development-camp-to-hit-lower-great-southern-region","title":{"rendered":"Females in Tennis Development Camp to hit Lower Great Southern region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Regional female tennis players in the <strong>Lower Great Southern<\/strong> region will be some of the first junior athletes in Australia to take part in <strong>Tennis Australia\u2019s<\/strong> all new <strong>Females in Tennis Development Camp. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Set to amplify opportunities for girls and women in tennis, <strong>Albany<\/strong> will play host to the first of 25 camps being rolled out across the country; with the free camps being funded under the <strong>Federal Government\u2019s 2019 $12million<\/strong> commitment to women and girls in tennis.<\/p>\n<p>Hitting the <strong>Lawley Park TC <\/strong>(Albany) on <strong>Friday 9 October<\/strong>, female players aged between 9 and 14 are invited to attend the full day development camp with <strong>Tennis Australia\u2019s Talent Operations Manager WA, Emma Hayman <\/strong>and WA\u2019s <strong>Club Professional Coach, Marisa Gianotti. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Aiming to develop player performance both on and off the court, the philosophy and guiding principles of the junior female development camps are reflective of the same deliverables as those presented at State and National camps; including the pinnacle of female training camps reserved for the Australian Fed Cup Team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese camps are designed to bring girls together and show them that they are an important part of the Australian female tennis community, and that belonging to this community is something special,\u201d said <strong>Tennis Australia\u2019s National Lead \u2013 Females in Tennis, Emma Shoemaker.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In looking to reflect what is being seen in the modern women\u2019s game and identifying the unique differences of playing and competing as a female player, the camp will focus on skill development, peer connection and unique experiences within tennis. Underpinning the programs overall philosophy, will be Tennis Australia\u2019s Wellbeing Program with activities designed for nurturing the development of emotionally healthy players.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe format of a camp is unique.
