Fifty Pre-Primary students from Hollywood Primary School <\/strong>are set to receive brand new tennis racquets this Friday 21 August <\/strong>as part of the national Tennis Australia partnership with ANZ. The Hollywood students will join more than 30,000<\/strong> pre-primary school students from more than 800 <\/strong>schools across Australia benefiting from the 2020<\/strong> National ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Racquet Roadshow. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The lucky students were handed the racquets by ATP professional player and WA local Tristan Schoolkate<\/strong>\u00a0who then join the students on court for an ANZ Tennis Hot Shots tennis clinic facilitated by Tennis Factory Director Matt Bull <\/strong>and Head Coach Jack Baldwin\u00a0<\/strong>(Onslow Park TC).<\/p>\n

The Roadshow was Schoolkate\u2019s final appearance on home soil for some time, with the recent Australian Davis Cup Team Orange Boy departing Perth early this week to compete in the UTR Pro Tennis Series event being held in Brisbane. The 2019 18\/U Singles and Doubles Australian Championship winner and current world number 821 says he\u2019s looking forward to inspiring the next generation of up-and-coming tennis players.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s really great to play a part in helping to inspire kids to pick up a racquet and have a hit,\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Whether they do that at home against a wall, on a court with family and friends or they sign up for lessons at their local tennis club \u2013 it\u2019s a great thing to be a part of,\u2019 Schoolkate said.<\/p>\n

By December, 170,000 racquets<\/strong> will have been delivered to schools across Australia since 2015, thanks to ANZ. And with published reports continuing to discuss declining levels of activity in children, the free racquets will help get kids moving at school, home and in the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur partnership with ANZ will give another 3,000 kids across WA the opportunity to get active and lead a healthy lifestyle,\u201d commented Tennis West CEO Michael Roberts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cTennis Australia\u2019s partnership with ANZ has helped us to put more racquets in children\u2019s hands than ever before. There are so many skills that kids can develop at a young age by playing tennis, regardless of whether that\u2019s on the court, in their backyard or even in their lounge room,\u201d Mr Roberts said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re really proud of our continued support of tennis at a grassroots level, encouraging Australians to get active and look after their wellbeing,\u201d said Katherine Bray, Managing Director Retail at ANZ.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past five years this partnership with Tennis Australia has delivered racquets to thousands of communities across the country, helping young kids to get involved in community sports like tennis\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
