Tennis West is calling for applications for 2 x Board Director Positions <\/strong>for election in accordance with its current Constitution. Each Director will be appointed for three years. Tennis West is the governing body of Tennis in WA. Our central role is to ensure the commercial viability of tennis, oversee the development of grassroots programs, manage competitions and tournaments, and promote tennis at all levels. Members of Tennis West are the affiliated tennis clubs, of which there are just under 200 across Western Australia.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Tennis West has approximately 26 staff located across three locations; Burswood, Geraldton and Busselton.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Following this AGM the Tennis West Board will consist of 6 Elected Directors and 3 Board Appointed Directors. All positions are voluntary.<\/p>\n

Nominations close at 5:00pm on September 4, 2020<\/strong> and the Nominations Committee will consider the nominations, evaluate against the priority criteria and provide advice to Club Delegates who will vote for these positions at the AGM, to be held on Thursday 29th<\/sup> October 2020 at a time and venue to be advised.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Criteria\/Experience (in order of importance\/ weighting)<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/h5>\n
    \n
  1. Financial Governance<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Experience working within an environment of Diversity and Culture<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Strategic Marketing and Communications<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Information technology and innovation<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Tennis Knowledge as either a Player, Coach or Administrator<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    In setting the above \u201cCriteria\u201d the Tennis West Nominations Committee, and in turn, the Tennis West Board, has considered:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Tennis West\u2019s Strategic Agenda<\/li>\n
    2. Tennis West\u2019s Good Governance Principles that embrace best practice of a skills-based Board, which includes gender diversity to support diverse decision making<\/li>\n
    3. The current skills matrix of the Board, including those positions up for election in 2020 and the skills needing to be replaced<\/li>\n
    4. The expertise required to support the current organisational needs of Tennis West and the future<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      A nomination form is available here.<\/a> This form must be lodged with the CEO of Tennis West (i.e. at Tennis West), along with a CV<\/strong>, and up to a further two-page covering letter\/submission<\/strong> addressing how they meet one or more of the above criteria\/experience by either:<\/p>\n
