{"id":15087,"date":"2020-02-25T15:23:18","date_gmt":"2020-02-25T07:23:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=15087"},"modified":"2020-03-16T15:04:32","modified_gmt":"2020-03-16T07:04:32","slug":"casey-dellacqua-inspires-next-generation-with-coaching-clinic-for-was-top-female-talent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2020\/02\/25\/casey-dellacqua-inspires-next-generation-with-coaching-clinic-for-was-top-female-talent","title":{"rendered":"Casey Dellacqua inspires next generation with coaching clinic for WA\u2019s top female talent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former tennis professional and doubles expert <strong>Casey Dellacqua<\/strong>, joined 15 of the state\u2019s top performing 16\/u junior girls on Saturday, for a dedicated doubles coaching clinic at the State Tennis Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Having dominated the doubles game throughout her professional playing career, Dellacqua delivered invaluable insights, strategies and tactics to the aspiring young players, who relished in the opportunity to learn from the former doubles champion whose doubles ranking peaked at world No.3 in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Taking to the court with Dellacqua, were players from the <strong>Tennis West Junior Girls State League<\/strong> competition who compete weekly in the all-new <strong>Casey Dellacqua Cup<\/strong>, which aims to create a level playing field and natural progression for the state\u2019s top aspiring juniors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tennis West CEO Michael Roberts<\/strong> says it was an absolute honor to have Dellacqua spend time with some of the state\u2019s most promising players.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The Casey Dellacqua Cup is a new initiative for the 2019\/2020 season and having Casey as the Competition\u2019s Ambassador is an absolute privilege,\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018She\u2019s the perfect fit for our Junior State League girls, having grown up playing in WA, she understands our training, development and competition landscape like no one else,\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The girls are incredibly fortunate to be given the opportunity to spend time on court with Casey and they\u2019ll each take something different away from the experience. It\u2019s a priceless experience for our junior girls,\u2019 Roberts said.<\/p>\n<p>Dellacqua, who took on the role of the competitions ambassador in 2019, says she\u2019s thrilled to put her name to a competition that meant so much to her as a developing player.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I\u2019m so excited and honoured to be named ambassador for the Casey Dellacqua Cup,\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I played in the State League competition every weekend throughout my junior career, and as I progressed into the senior ranks\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It actually really developed me into being the player that I ended up being,\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s such a great concept and I\u2019m so glad it is still thriving all these years later,\u2019 Dellacqua said.<\/p>\n<p>There are six Junior Girls State League teams which compete weekly in the Casey Dellacqua Cup.
