The Australian Open<\/strong> perpetual Norman Brooks Challenge Cup<\/strong> (Men\u2019s) and Daphane Akhurst Memorial Cup<\/strong>\u00a0(Women’s) will be on display, and available for photo opportunity, at this weekend\u2019s Festival of Tennis<\/strong> on Saturday 22 February<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The prestigious Grand Slam trophies, which were first awarded in 1934, will be on display at the State Tennis Centre <\/strong>(Burswood) between 10:00 and 2:00 pm,<\/strong> and will feature as a major draw card to the weekend\u2019s free family fun festival.<\/p>\n

The festival, which sits as the center piece to the back-to-back W25<\/strong> Perth International<\/strong> Pro Tour<\/strong> swings, will be full of excitement, with WA\u2019s very own Casey Dellacqua<\/strong> home in Perth to help giveaway 200 free ANZ Tennis Hot Shots racquets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The free family fun festival has something for everyone, with an animal farm, toddler ball pit, garden games, bouncy castles, face painting, fun tennis activities, Channel 9 giveaways and free spectator entry to the Final <\/strong>of the W25 Perth International Women\u2019s Double\u2019s<\/strong> event. With plenty of food and beverage options available for purchase, including coffee, healthy snacks, ice-creams, sausage sizzle options and bar facilities, the day promises to be a great day out.<\/p>\n

Tennis West CEO Michael Roberts<\/strong> says it\u2019s a wonderful honor to have the Australian Open Trophies here in Perth for the Festival of Tennis.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s not every day that we get these prestigious trophies here to WA, in fact the last time they were in Perth was back in 2012,\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Having the Norman Brooks Challenge Cup and Daphane Akhurst Memorial Cup on site at the State Tennis Centre for the Festival of Tennis provides the WA tennis community with a unique opportunity to see both the Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s AO trophies which are more than 85 years old,\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Having been held by the many past and present legends of the game, with the most recent winners of Sophia Kenin and Novak Djokovic, it\u2019s a wonderful privilege to have these trophies here in Perth for everyone to see,\u2019 Roberts said.<\/p>\n

The AO trophies will arrive in Perth under strict security measures and will be on available for viewing and photo opportunity for the duration of the Festival of Tennis on Saturday 22 February from 10:00 am \u2013 2:00 pm.<\/p>\n
