60 pre-primary students at Doubleview Primary School<\/strong> received brand new ANZ Tennis Hot Shots<\/strong> racquets, thanks to ANZ.<\/p>\n

Former Doubleview PS student and professional tennis player Tristan Schoolkate, joined Innaloo ANZ Branch Manager, Lubi Milivojevic<\/strong> to present the tennis racquets to the pre-primary students.<\/p>\n

Taking time out to meet with the students of Doubleview PS, Schoolkate\u2019s final year on the junior circuit saw him win an impressive six junior ITF singles and doubles titles to reach a career high ITF junior ranking of number 33 in the world.<\/p>\n

In what was a standout year for the recently turned professional player, Schoolkate claimed the J2 Singles title in Prato, Italy, the Singles and Doubles titles at the Australian Winter International in Sydney, in addition to finishing as a Singles Finalist in the B2 Fiji.<\/p>\n

Playing all four junior Grand Slam events, Schoolkate claimed a round of 16 finish at both the Junior Wimbledon and the US Open Juniors events, played qualifying at the French Open and reached the doubles quarter finals at the Australian Open Juniors.<\/p>\n

Now in its third year, the Racquet Roadshow has encouraged kids Australia-wide to pick up a racquet and get involved in physical activity.
\nThe Racquet Roadshow comes as an extensive 25-year observational study has confirmed that racquet sports, including tennis, can increase life expectancy by almost 10 years.<\/p>\n

A further 30,000 racquets will be handed out to first year primary school students across Australia in over 500 schools this year, as ANZ\u2019s ongoing support of the new school starter racquet initiative will see a total of 140,000 racquets delivered across Australia at the end of 2019.<\/p>\n

I believe tennis is uniquely placed to help put an end to the inactivity crisis that is currently facing this next generation of children in Australia,\u201d Tennis Australia\u2019s Chief Tennis Officer Matt Dwyer<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy introducing a racquet to these children in their formative years at school we can help play a role in their approach to physical activity and create lifelong memories through tennis, and with the recent research that suggests tennis can add a further 9.7 years to your life, why wouldn\u2019t you start playing.\u201d<\/p>\n
