{"id":14771,"date":"2019-11-14T15:13:33","date_gmt":"2019-11-14T07:13:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=14771"},"modified":"2019-11-14T15:13:33","modified_gmt":"2019-11-14T07:13:33","slug":"maddison-inglis-to-present-students-with-brand-new-racquets-thanks-to-anz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2019\/11\/14\/maddison-inglis-to-present-students-with-brand-new-racquets-thanks-to-anz","title":{"rendered":"Maddison Inglis to present students with brand new racquets thanks to ANZ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>60 pre-primary students at <strong>Sacred Heart Primary School<\/strong> (Thornlie) will receive brand new <strong>ANZ Tennis Hot Shots<\/strong> racquets, thanks to ANZ.<\/p>\n<p>Former Sacred Heart PS student and now WTA ranked world number 130, <strong>Maddison Inglis<\/strong>, will join <strong>Maddington Central ANZ Home &amp; Investment Lending Manager, Kristy Hayes<\/strong> to present the free tennis racquets to the pre-primary students.<\/p>\n<p>2019 has been a whirlwind of success for 21 year old Inglis who claimed her maiden ITF Singles title in Thailand, followed by a second title in Saskatoon, Canada and a third on Australian soil in Toowoomba. Cementing her position as one to watch, Inglis has been a fierce finals contender throughout the year finishing as runner up in Hong Kong, Brisbane and Bendigo.<\/p>\n<p>Now in its third year, the Racquet Roadshow has encouraged kids Australia-wide to pick up a racquet and get involved in physical activity.<br \/>\nThe Racquet Roadshow comes as an extensive 25-year observational study has confirmed that racquet sports, including tennis, can increase life expectancy by almost 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>A further 30,000 racquets will be handed out to first year primary school students across Australia in over 500 schools this year, as ANZ\u2019s ongoing support of the new school starter racquet initiative will see a total of 140,000 racquets delivered across Australia at the end of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany of our customers and staff are passionate about tennis and we\u2019re thrilled to be renewing our significant support of tennis in Australia. This program enables us to support the sport throughout hundreds of Australian communities,\u201d <strong>ANZ Group Executive, Australia Business and Private Bank, Mark Hand<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re committed to growing this sport across the region and ANZ Tennis Hot Shots is a continuation of our investment into grassroots participation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a national sporting body, we have an opportunity to make a positive contribution to getting kids active.
