{"id":14713,"date":"2019-10-23T10:43:13","date_gmt":"2019-10-23T02:43:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=14713"},"modified":"2019-11-26T16:34:20","modified_gmt":"2019-11-26T08:34:20","slug":"alicia-molik-visits-students-across-perth-as-part-of-fed-cup-final-schools-fair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2019\/10\/23\/alicia-molik-visits-students-across-perth-as-part-of-fed-cup-final-schools-fair","title":{"rendered":"Alicia Molik visits students across Perth as part of Fed Cup Final Schools Fair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Fed Cup Final Schools Fair\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/v4FXkJZgtto?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Australian Fed Cup captain Alicia Molik<\/strong> has spent the week visiting six Perth primary schools as part of a Fed Cup Final Schools Fair.<\/p>\n<p>Students presented Molik with good luck message boards featuring handwritten messages of support for the Australian Fed Cup team ahead of the <strong>BNP Paribas Fed Cup Final<\/strong> against France at <strong>RAC Arena from 9 to 10 November.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The message boards will be presented to the Australian team before the tie and placed on display inside their team locker room.<\/p>\n<p>Molik spent time at the Riverton PS,\u00a0Ardross PS, Phoenix PS, Rosalie PS, Sacred Heart PS and Wembley PS where more than 500 students were dressed in a sea of green and gold to welcome the Fed Cup Captain.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the visits, schools were also been asked to nominate a name for the Australian Fed Cup Final tie mascot, which will be revealed throughout the week.<\/p>\n<p>Molik says she\u2019s looking forward to inspiring the next generation of up-and-coming tennis players when she visits each school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Fed Cup Final is a momentous occasion for not only the players and team, but the wider tennis community and Australian sporting fans,\u201d Alicia Molik said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHosting a Fed Cup Final in your home city is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I\u2019m really looking forward to visiting some of the schools around Perth and sharing the excitement and buzz around the Final with the local school kids.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWomen\u2019s tennis and tennis across the board in Australia is in a really strong position at the moment, we have a world No.1 in Ash Barty, a former Grand Slam champion in Sam Stosur and some fantastic young ambassadors and rising stars in our ranks.
