{"id":14114,"date":"2019-04-10T08:36:15","date_gmt":"2019-04-10T00:36:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=14114"},"modified":"2019-04-10T08:36:15","modified_gmt":"2019-04-10T00:36:15","slug":"wa-junior-zach-viiala-headed-to-itf-world-junior-tennis-finals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2019\/04\/10\/wa-junior-zach-viiala-headed-to-itf-world-junior-tennis-finals","title":{"rendered":"WA junior Zach Viiala headed to ITF World Junior Tennis Finals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WA&#8217;s young gun <strong>Zach Viiala<\/strong> will join team mates\u00a0<strong>Jeremy Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>(NSW) and\u00a0<strong>Alex Despoja\u00a0<\/strong>(SA)\u00a0at the ITF Junior Tennis Finals in\u00a0Projestov, Czech Republic in August later this year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Travelling with the team will be\u00a0WA &#8216;s Talent Development Manager and coach\u00a0<strong>Damian Ward.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The trio, who last week finished second in the\u00a0<strong>ITF World Junior Tennis<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Asia \/ Oceania\u00a0<\/strong>qualifying event in \u00a0Kuala Lumpur, played an impressive tournament across the six days of competition.\u00a0 Overcoming Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Korea, India and China in qualifying, the Aussie boys&#8217; will now battle it in the Finals against qualification zone winners from Africa, North\/Central America, South America, Europe.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Finals appearance sets up a chance for the Aussie team to be crowned\u00a0<strong>ITF World Junior Tennis<\/strong>\u00a0champions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WA&#8217;s Talent Development Manager and coach\u00a0<strong>Damian Ward\u00a0<\/strong>says the teams performance throughout the week was outstanding.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Without a doubt the boys have all grown from the experience, both on and off the court,&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m very proud of all of the boys, they worked incredibly hard throughout the qualifying tournament to secure a Finals position.
