WA’s young gun Zach Viiala<\/strong> will join team mates\u00a0Jeremy Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>(NSW) and\u00a0Alex Despoja\u00a0<\/strong>(SA)\u00a0at the ITF Junior Tennis Finals in\u00a0Projestov, Czech Republic in August later this year.<\/p>\n

Travelling with the team will be\u00a0WA ‘s Talent Development Manager and coach\u00a0Damian Ward.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The trio, who last week finished second in the\u00a0ITF World Junior Tennis<\/strong>\u00a0Asia \/ Oceania\u00a0<\/strong>qualifying event in \u00a0Kuala Lumpur, played an impressive tournament across the six days of competition.\u00a0 Overcoming Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Korea, India and China in qualifying, the Aussie boys’ will now battle it in the Finals against qualification zone winners from Africa, North\/Central America, South America, Europe.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Finals appearance sets up a chance for the Aussie team to be crowned\u00a0ITF World Junior Tennis<\/strong>\u00a0champions.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

WA’s Talent Development Manager and coach\u00a0Damian Ward\u00a0<\/strong>says the teams performance throughout the week was outstanding.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Without a doubt the boys have all grown from the experience, both on and off the court,”<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“I’m very proud of all of the boys, they worked incredibly hard throughout the qualifying tournament to secure a Finals position. I couldn’t be prouder of their efforts,” said Damian.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The ITF World Junior Tennis Finals will be played in\u00a0Projestov, Czech Republic form the 5-10 August 2019.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Former winners of the boys\u00a0ITF World Junior Tennis<\/strong>\u00a0includes ATP household names such as Rafael Nadal, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, David Nalbandian and Richard Gasquet.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The girls\u2019 team, represented by WA’s\u00a0Taylah Preston\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Jessie Culley<\/strong>\u00a0and QLD’s\u00a0Hana Sonton<\/strong>\u00a0competes from 8-13 April.<\/p>\n
