{"id":13997,"date":"2019-03-19T16:48:45","date_gmt":"2019-03-19T08:48:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=13997"},"modified":"2019-03-19T16:48:45","modified_gmt":"2019-03-19T08:48:45","slug":"ta-national-policy-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2019\/03\/19\/ta-national-policy-update","title":{"rendered":"TA National Policy Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An extensive review of the Tennis Australia National policies was recently undertaken to ensure that all policies meet all the necessary legislation and sport requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The TA Board approved these Policies on the 12 February 2019.\u00a0 Please find below a summary of changes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Member Protection Policy (MPP)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A full outline of the changes made to the MPP are set out in the document below<\/p>\n<p>However, the major change to the MPP has been the re-working of the complaint management process.\u00a0 This has been amended to reflect best practice and the current operations of the TA integrity team.\u00a0 In summary, complaints are categorised as either \u2018vexatious, baseless or trivial\u2019, \u2018minor\u2019 or \u2018serious\u2019.\u00a0 The complaint management process differs for each complaint type (NB under the previous version of the MPP there was only one complaint management process and it applied to all complaints, regardless of the circumstances and seriousness of the complaint).\u00a0 This new process will provide Tennis Australia (and other ATOs that manage complaints) with more flexibility.\u00a0 It also gives greater clarity to complainants and respondents with respect to their rights and obligations under the MPP.<\/p>\n<p>The tribunal hearing process in the MPP has also been updated.\u00a0 This updated process balances the need to deal with matters expediently, whilst still ensuring all parties are treated fairly and given an opportunity to present their case.<\/p>\n<p>In order to gain a full appreciation of the changes made to the MPP, we encourage you to review the document\u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/files\/2019\/03\/Record-of-changes-to-MPP-Feb19.pdf\">Record of changes MPP Feb19.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Disciplinary Policy (DP) <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A full outline of the changes made to the DP are set out in document below.<\/p>\n<p>Similar to the MPP, the key change to the DP has been the re-working of the complaint management process and tribunal hearing process.\u00a0 In that regard, the DP is now consistent with the MPP.<\/p>\n<p>We have also clarified the ranking of each Tennis National Policy, in that if there is any inconsistency, the MPP takes precedence over the DP (and both the MPP and DP take precedence over the Social Media Policy).<\/p>\n<p>We have also added new breaches of the DP, including a prohibition on misusing personal information and a failure to provide truthful information as part of the complaint management process.<\/p>\n<p>In order to gain a full appreciation of the changes made to the DP, we encourage you to review the document \u2013<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/files\/2019\/03\/Record-of-Changes-Disciplinary-Policy-FINAL-Feb19.pdf\"> Record of Changes Disciplinary Policy FINAL Feb19.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Social Media Policy<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Social Media Policy has been updated in line with advances and changes in technology, and the different ways people are now able to communicate via social media platforms.\u00a0 It is otherwise generally consistent with the previous version.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, each of the MPP, the DP and the Social Medial Policy have been modernised and updated in terms of structure, format and style.\u00a0 They all now have the same \u201clook and feel\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An extensive review of the Tennis Australia National policies was recently undertaken to ensure that all policies meet all the necessary legislation and sport requirements.
