{"id":13849,"date":"2019-02-22T16:41:26","date_gmt":"2019-02-22T08:41:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=13849"},"modified":"2019-02-22T16:42:57","modified_gmt":"2019-02-22T08:42:57","slug":"super-saturday-for-perth-tennis-international","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2019\/02\/22\/super-saturday-for-perth-tennis-international","title":{"rendered":"Super Saturday for Perth Tennis International"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Quarter Finals of the <strong>Perth Tennis International Pro Tour<\/strong> were played in perfect conditions today at the State Tennis Centre.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olivia Gadeckie<\/strong> (QLD) continued her success with a 6-2, 6-4 win over fellow Aussie\u00a0<strong>Annerly Poulos<\/strong> (ACT), whilst second seed <strong>Jennifer Elie<\/strong> (USA) capitalised on her experience to defeat\u00a0<strong>Anastasia Berezov<\/strong>\u00a0 6-4, 6-1.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Having lost only 1 game on the way to the quarter finals,fourth seed<strong> Lulu Sun<\/strong> (SUI), relinquished 2 games\u00a0 to NSW youngster\u00a0<strong>Taylah Lawless<\/strong>, to take the match 6-1, 6-1.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The most competitive match was between third seed\u00a0<strong>Haruna Arakawa<\/strong> (JPN) and South Australian young gun, <strong>Amber Marshall<\/strong>. Marshall lost the first set 4-6, then found her feet and took the second 6-2. The momentum continued the way of the Japanese player, who went up 3-0 in the third. However, Amber, showed no signs of giving up, and drove the ball into the corners to grab the next 6 games, and the match.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Doubles Final tomorrow will feature the Japanese pair, <strong>Haine Ogata<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Aiko Yoshitomi\u00a0<\/strong>against the strong\u00a0USA\/FRA combination,<strong> Jennifer Elie<\/strong> and <strong>Irina Ramialison.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow\u2019s order of play features the Women\u2019s Singles Main Draw Semi Finals starting at 11am (AWST), followed by the Doubles Final. In addition, the Perth Tennis International brings some of the world\u2019s biggest rankings movers together, for a glimpse into the world of professional tennis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Adding to the local female tennis talent, the State Tennis Centre will also play host to the\u00a0<strong>Women\u2019s State League Showcase\u00a0<\/strong>on\u00a0<strong>Saturday 23 February,<\/strong>\u00a0which will run alongside the Pro Tour Doubles Final and Singles Semi Final.
