Despite the wet weather, the 2018 Imagine Cruising WA Junior Open was a popular end to the Spring school holiday tournament calendar. The top seeds Jake Dembo and Rhea Makesar were victorious in the 12\u2019s Event. Kent Yamazaki (2) took the boys 14\u2019s from Derek Pham and Chloe Madison-Williams came from 6th<\/sup> seed to win the 14\u2019s girls over Jessie Culley. Luka Brown is the 16\u2019s boys champion, joined by Talia Gibson in the girls.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Before the matches commenced the officials introduced a Handshake Challenge <\/em>where parents and\/or coaches were invited on court to witness the tossing of the coin and the talk by officials regarding play formats and instructions.\u00a0 Once the toss was completed the players would then shake hands before commencing their warm-up.\u00a0 This initiative has been warmly received by players, coaches and parents alike.<\/p>\n
