Western Australia finished runner-up in the 2018 Pizzey Cup<\/strong> that was held from 28 April – 6 May in Queensland. The Pizzey Cup was introduced in 1978 and is a prestigious national schools team tennis championship open to students from year seven through to year 12 from every state and territory.<\/p>\n

The only tie that team WA lost was to undefeated New South Wales<\/strong> in the final, who proved to be too strong, defeating WA 14 rubbers to 4, claiming the Pizzey Cup for the 10th consecutive year.<\/p>\n

Queensland battled it out against Victoria to win the Bronze medal.<\/p>\n

The Tennis Australia Cup<\/strong> is a singles event that runs in conjunction with the Pizzey Cup and WA’s Jerome Iaconi<\/strong> claimed the boys title, defeating Trent Marline (NSW)<\/strong> 6-1 2-6 7-6(6).<\/p>\n
