{"id":12385,"date":"2017-11-07T09:29:55","date_gmt":"2017-11-07T01:29:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=12385"},"modified":"2017-11-07T09:41:56","modified_gmt":"2017-11-07T01:41:56","slug":"ebden-claims-apis-canberra-international-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2017\/11\/07\/ebden-claims-apis-canberra-international-title","title":{"rendered":"Ebden claims Apis Canberra International title"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Matthew Ebden <\/strong>(WA) has taken out the Apis Canberra International title in front of a packed crowd at the Canberra Tennis Centre.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ebden defeated <strong>Taro Daniel <\/strong>(JPN) 7-6(4) 6-4.\u00a0 Ebden jumped out to a great start, breaking early to go up 5-2.\u00a0 Daniel turned it around to break back and force it into a tiebreak.\u00a0 Solid serving from Ebden proved pivotal in clinching the tiebreak, winning an impressive 92% of points on his first serve.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It remained tight at the start of the second, before Ebden secured the break to go up 4-3.\u00a0 From there Ebden held strong on serve to secure the win, dropping to the ground to celebrate his 7<sup>th<\/sup> ATP Challenger title.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Heading into the match, Ebden knew he was in for a tough battle and was pleased with how he executed his game plan.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTaro is a quality player, he\u2019s been a top 100 player, you know what you\u2019re going to get with him.
