{"id":12131,"date":"2017-07-06T09:44:47","date_gmt":"2017-07-06T01:44:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=12131"},"modified":"2017-07-12T09:27:58","modified_gmt":"2017-07-12T01:27:58","slug":"regional-athletes-excel-in-darwin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2017\/07\/06\/regional-athletes-excel-in-darwin","title":{"rendered":"Regional Athletes excel in Darwin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tennis West, with the support of the <strong>Department of Sport &amp; Recreation<\/strong>, offer athletes living in Regional WA the opportunity to participate in the Regional Talent Development (RTD) Program.<\/p>\n<p>The objectives of this program are to;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Develop regional players<\/li>\n<li>Provide greater opportunities for creating long term player development<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The 2016-2017 RTD Program offers a subsidised interstate tour for athletes living in regional WA, who reached the quarterfinals of the 2016 Women in Tennis Foundation &amp; D\u2019Arcy Slater Cup or better, and were born between 2003 -2005.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Nine regional WA athletes, accepted the invitation, and recently competed in Darwin at both the NT Age Championships &amp; Darwin Age Titles.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>RTD Athletes:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Brady Argent \u2013 Eastern Districts \u2013 16 &amp; U Singles Consolation Finalist<\/p>\n<p>Brock Dawson \u2013 Lower Great Southern \u2013 16 &amp; U Consolation Winner<\/p>\n<p>Grace Fisher \u2013 Central Districts \u2013 16 &amp; U Singles Consolation Winner<\/p>\n<p>Lachlan Lord \u2013 South West \u2013 14 &amp; U Singles Consolation Winner<\/p>\n<p>Samuel McLean \u2013 Central Districts<\/p>\n<p>Anneliese Mellick \u2013 Central Districts<\/p>\n<p>Hannah Nichols \u2013 South West &#8211; 12 &amp; U Doubles Finalist, 12 &amp; U Singles Consolation Winner<\/p>\n<p>Breanna Page \u2013 Upper Great Southern<\/p>\n<p>Angela Stokes \u2013 Central Districts \u2013 16 &amp; U Singles Consolation Finalist<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Many thanks to the <strong>Department of Sport &amp; Recreation<\/strong> for their ongoing support with tennis in regional WA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tennis West, with the support of the Department of Sport &amp; Recreation, offer athletes living in Regional WA the opportunity to participate in the Regional Talent Development (RTD) Program.
