{"id":11933,"date":"2017-03-29T15:12:52","date_gmt":"2017-03-29T07:12:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=11933"},"modified":"2017-05-10T11:33:46","modified_gmt":"2017-05-10T03:33:46","slug":"loton-park-tennis-club-launches-online-court-booking-to-local-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2017\/03\/29\/loton-park-tennis-club-launches-online-court-booking-to-local-community","title":{"rendered":"Loton Park Tennis Club launches online court booking to local community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last\u00a0Wednesday, Loton Park Tennis Club officially\u00a0launched their new online court booking system \u2013 Book-a-Court, with <strong>City of Vincent Mayor, Emma Cole <\/strong>unveiling the new initiative that will change the way the community can access their local tennis club.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Loton Park TC is one of seven pilot clubs in WA to have installed the new online court booking system, which allows online payment, keyless entry and around-the-clock access to the courts via pin pad technology.\u00a0 Once a player books a court online, it connects with a pin-pad at the gate, turning on the lights when a player enters their unique booking pin on the keypad.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The seven pilot programs were funded by the Department of Sport and Recreation in conjunction with Tennis Australia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The system is available to both members and non-members, with a key focus of encouraging greater accessibility and convenience to members of the local community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The club officially launched this system to the community and the local council on Wednesday evening with a ceremonial ribbon cutting by Mayor Emma Cole, Councillors from the City of Vincent, DSR Representatives, key Tennis West officials and the Loton Park TC committee members.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As part of the launch, the club also opened their gates to the local community and offered\u00a0free Social Tennis between 5-7pm with a sausage sizzle and champagne on arrival. Attendees were also able to \u2018walk the red carpet\u2019 leading up to the pin-pad gate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>President of Loton Park Tennis Club, <strong>Mr Philip Hawkins <\/strong>is thrilled with the benefits that this system provides to both the club and the wider community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Book a Court System has taken Loton Park TC into the smart phone age, and allows easier, more convenient access for our members, social players and the wider community\u201d Mr Hawkins said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor our club, Book a Court has been a huge improvement for our members and those people who live and work nearby who just want to play tennis without the hassle of physically grabbing a key from another location.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to make our facility more accessible to the local community, and this innovative system is allowing us to do that\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tennis West CEO, <strong>Michael Roberts<\/strong> believes Book a Court is the way of the future for tennis and is a positive step forward for WA clubs who can now provide a new offering to the local community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Book a Court platform meets modern consumer expectations by providing a convenient, easy, online platform to book and access your local court.
