{"id":11903,"date":"2017-03-16T14:59:38","date_gmt":"2017-03-16T06:59:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=11903"},"modified":"2017-03-16T14:59:38","modified_gmt":"2017-03-16T06:59:38","slug":"semi-final-saturday-for-the-states-best","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2017\/03\/16\/semi-final-saturday-for-the-states-best","title":{"rendered":"Semi-Final Saturday for the State\u2019s best"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After 14 rounds of home and away fixtures, the Semi Finals of the Tennis West State League will kick off this Saturday, with the State\u2019s best tennis players all vying for a place in next week\u2019s Grand Final and a share of $16K in prize money.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the Men\u2019s Semi Finals, <strong>Royal Kings Park TC<\/strong> will take on <strong>Mosman Park TC<\/strong>, and <strong>Hensman Park TC<\/strong> will play reigning champions <strong>Cottesloe TC.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Royal Kings Park TC, who were newly promoted to State League this season, made quite the entrance to the big league, finishing top of the table.\u00a0 They will enjoy a home Semi Final clash against Mosman Park who have boasted some big names in their team this season, including <strong>Matthew Ebden, Brydan Klein <\/strong>and 2017 Australian Open Doubles Champion, <strong>John Peers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the second Semi Final match <strong>Hensman Park TC<\/strong> will enjoy a home ground advantage against the reigning champions, <strong>Cottesloe TC<\/strong>, who have a strong line-up of players available for selection, including last year\u2019s State League MVP, <strong>Joel Pleydell<\/strong>, and Tennis West National Academy Coach <strong>Andrew Roberts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the Women\u2019s Semi Finals, last year\u2019s winners <strong>Blue Gum Park TC <\/strong>will play <strong>City Beach TC <\/strong>and <strong>North Beach TC <\/strong>will take on <strong>Cottesloe TC.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both City Beach TC and Blue Gum Park TC have been consistent Finals contenders for many years. Last time the teams met back in February, it came down to a matter of games to separate the sides, with both teams winning 3 rubbers and 7 sets each. Blue Gum Park were the eventual winners, by only 10 games, so City Beach will be seeking revenge this round.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the second Semi Final North Beach TC will be looking to capitalise on their home side advantage to topple Cottesloe TC, who have the star power of <strong>Alicia Molik <\/strong>and <strong>Maddison Inglis<\/strong> named in their team.
