{"id":11858,"date":"2017-02-28T11:45:59","date_gmt":"2017-02-28T03:45:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=11858"},"modified":"2017-03-10T14:07:36","modified_gmt":"2017-03-10T06:07:36","slug":"wembley-downs-tc-launches-new-online-court-booking-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2017\/02\/28\/wembley-downs-tc-launches-new-online-court-booking-system","title":{"rendered":"Wembley Downs TC launches new Online Court Booking System"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Saturday afternoon, <strong>Wembley Downs Tennis Club<\/strong> officially launched their new online court booking system \u2013 Book-a-Court, with <strong>City of Stirling Mayor, Giovanni Italiano <\/strong>unveiling the new initiative that will change the way the community can access their local tennis club.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Wembley Downs TC is one of seven pilot clubs in WA to have installed the new online court booking system, which allows online payment, keyless entry and around-the-clock access to the courts via pin pad technology.\u00a0 Once a player books a court online, it connects with a pin-pad at the gate, turning on the lights when a player enters their unique booking pin on the keypad.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The seven pilot programs were funded by the Department of Sport and Recreation in conjunction with Tennis Australia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The system is available to both members and non-members, with a key focus of encouraging greater accessibility and convenience to members of the local community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The club officially launched this system to its members and the local council on Saturday afternoon with a ceremonial ribbon cutting by Mayor Giovanni Italiano, key Tennis West officials and the Wembley Downs TC committee.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>President of Wembley Downs Tennis Club, <strong>Mr Peter Doherty <\/strong>is thrilled with the benefits that this system will provide to both the club and the wider community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor clubs like Wembley Downs that rely on volunteers, this systems provides the community with an easy, user- friendly process for booking our courts that negates the need for a volunteer to be available to unlock the gates and turn on the lights\u201d Mr Doherty said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdditionally the digital and social marketing that compliments the online system allows community members to easily make a court booking through our club website\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tennis West CEO, <strong>Michael Roberts<\/strong> believes this system is the way of the future for tennis and is a positive step forward for WA clubs who can now provide a new offering to the local community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Book a Court platform meets modern consumer expectations by providing a convenient, easy, online platform to book and access your local court.
