2016 has been a successful year for tennis in Western Australia. Our depth of players has improved significantly over the past 18 months. This has been evident with the number of successful results that we have seen at a national level. As a State, we need to continue to strive for higher training and competition standards to ensure that we continue to grow and ultimately give each other the best chance of reaching our true potential in the sport.<\/p>\n
37 Western Australian players were involved in the December Showdown over the past few weeks. The coaching staff were proud to see these players display the values of Compete, Commit and Respect throughout these events. Here are some of the significant results:<\/p>\n
Scott Jones<\/strong> \u2013 Singles winner 18s Australian Championships WA\u2019s State Teams exceeded their seeding positions to finish in the following positions:<\/p>\n 12s Boys \u2013 Finished 2nd \u2013 Derek Pham, Zach Viiala, Kent Yamazak<\/strong>i – Managed by John Thorpe Some special mentions go to Jerome Iaconi<\/strong> who registered 9 wins, 1 loss in the 14s Australian Championships and 14s State Team event.
