{"id":11297,"date":"2016-06-10T10:51:51","date_gmt":"2016-06-10T02:51:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=11297"},"modified":"2016-06-10T11:46:57","modified_gmt":"2016-06-10T03:46:57","slug":"female-coaching-scholarship-awarded-to-wa-tennis-coach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2016\/06\/10\/female-coaching-scholarship-awarded-to-wa-tennis-coach","title":{"rendered":"Female Coaching Scholarship Awarded to WA Tennis Coach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WA tennis coach <strong>Marisa Gianotti<\/strong> was recently announced as one of the first successful applicants to receive a Tennis Australia Women\u2019s Coaching Scholarship to support her in the completion of a Club Professional Coaching Course.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The scholarship is part of Tennis Australia\u2019s commitment to increase the number and quality of female tennis coaches in Australia, and was introduced to provide an opportunity for female coaches to access funding to support their completion of a Tennis Australia qualification.<br \/>\nGianotti has been coaching on-and off for the last 10 years, most recently at Reabold Tennis Club in Floreat, and states that her real passion is helping high performance kids develop though orange, green and yellow ball stages.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love seeing players reach their potential and achieve their goals. No two players are ever the same, so I love the challenge of being able to help every individual based on their needs\u201d Gianotti said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Gianotti, as one of only a small number of female tennis coaches in WA, has encouraged other women who have a passion for tennis to get involved in a coaching course.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere aren\u2019t many female coaches out there, and young girls like to have mentors and role models to look up to. Having more female coaches will hopefully result in more girls playing and loving the game\u201d Gianotti said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Scholarship recipients are provided with mentoring during the completion of their studies. Gianotti has chosen to work with Tennis Australia National Women\u2019s Development Manager, <strong>Rohan Fisher.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe Rohan will provide me with the right mentoring and guidance that is exclusive to female coaches. I also look forward to learning what the future holds for female coaches and how I can advocate and be a part of that.\u201d Gianotti said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WA Coach Development Manager, <strong>Christina Ladyman<\/strong> said the scholarship will allow Marisa to further her knowledge and skills in the coaching industry.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Women\u2019s Coaching Scholarship is a fantastic initiative from Tennis Australia.
