In the 15th year of running the Helen Waters Doubles Championship, the Women in Tennis\u00a0had\u00a0a record attendance of 78 pairs with 2 reserves, which was the biggest attendance of ladies for many years!<\/p>\n

The event took place on Wednesday 29 April at the Dalkeith TC, and the weather was perfect – just a little drizzle, with clouds and sunshine to make the day very comfortable.<\/p>\n

The Dalkeith ladies put on a marvellous spread and the W.I.T committee brought along some very delicious slices.<\/p>\n

Tournament Director, Leon Dhu did a stirling job with combinations of ladies into 7 divisions and the whole day ran\u00a0very smooth indeed, with great help from\u00a0the Women in Tennis\u00a0committee.<\/p>\n

Ladies made lots of comments on how they look forward to the\u00a0event every year and judging by the outstanding attendance this year, the committee are very happy that everyone enjoyed the day.<\/p>\n

There was\u00a017 grass courts and 3 hard courts in play.<\/p>\n

The raffle was for 1st prize…..Tennis Racquet donated by Hayden Gibson of Tennis Only
\n2nd prize ……Aust open towel donated by Tennis West
\n3rd prize …..book on Frank Segman’s life donated by Tennis West
\n4th prize …….BBQ tool set, donated by Bunnings Belmont<\/p>\n

\nLoretta Hughes, Tournament and Competitions Manager from Tennis West attended the Presentation, \u00a0giving a wonderful and enlightening speech to the ladies.<\/p>\n

Thanks must go to the Dalkeith Tennis Club who was the only club to send in a tender to hold the event this year, and to the\u00a0Committee of the Women In Tennis for a very well run tournament again this year.<\/p>\n
