{"id":9351,"date":"2012-11-28T13:11:16","date_gmt":"2012-11-28T03:11:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=9351"},"modified":"2012-11-28T13:11:16","modified_gmt":"2012-11-28T03:11:16","slug":"its-finals-time-atl-victorian-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2012\/11\/28\/its-finals-time-atl-victorian-conference","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s Finals time &#8211; ATL Victorian Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In an historic afternoon for the first time in Victorian tennis history the very best men\u2019s and women\u2019s Victorian players came together\u00a0at the Doveton Tennis Club in a fitting final round\u00a0of the hugely successful ATL Victorian Conference.<\/p>\n<p>The rolling carnival of ATL tennis has continued to gather momentum with each Super Round and it was great to see Doveton packed to the masses with spectators wanting a taste of the innovative world of ATL tennis.<\/p>\n<p>In a day of highs, Tennis Victoria also announced the winners of\u00a0the innovative fantasy style competition,\u00a0the Star Performance Award, where each player\u2019s results were tracked throughout the conference culminating in a male and female winner who were joined by the Star Performance Squad.<\/p>\n<p>Liston Seagulls dynamo James Lemke won the men\u2019s award and the Waverley Warriors Annabelle Andrinopoulos capped a memorable day in front of her home crowd winning the women\u2019s Star Performer award.<\/p>\n<p>At the completion of the Conference rounds Tennis Victoria is pleased to announce our finalists. \u00a0In the men\u2019s draw the No.1 ranked team in Tennis Australia\u2019s preseason ratings the Liston Seagulls led by the man with the fastest serve in the world at 263km\/h, Sam Groth, will face arch rivals the Kooyong Classics.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s draw the surprise packet of the competition the Frankston Firebirds will renew battles with the Kooyong Classics (ranked second best team in Australia with Tennis Australia\u2019s ATL pre season ratings) after a close Super Round.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will be a special night under bright lights against our arch rivals Kooyong and a unique opportunity for the winning team to advance to the ATL Playoffs.
