{"id":8254,"date":"2012-10-02T17:39:17","date_gmt":"2012-10-02T07:39:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=8254"},"modified":"2012-10-02T17:39:17","modified_gmt":"2012-10-02T07:39:17","slug":"exciting-new-scoring-system-for-atl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2012\/10\/02\/exciting-new-scoring-system-for-atl","title":{"rendered":"Exciting new individual player points scoring system for ATL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the start of the Asia-Pacific Tennis League (ATL) fast approaching, Tennis Victoria is excited to announce a new individual player points scoring system.<\/p>\n<p>All players involved in the Victorian Conference will have their results tracked and points awarded for every rubber they play from the moment the first ball is served on 11 November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis new innovation will provide players and tennis enthusiasts with a real off-court experience to increase the spectacle of the ATL,\u201d said Jeff Downes, Tennis Victoria\u2019s Competitions Manager.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlayers are awarded points based on the number of sets and games they win and at the end of the competition, the highest scoring player from each of the men\u2019s and women\u2019s competitions will be awarded the Star Performance Award.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition to this, the top four male and female players will also be announced as the Star Performance Squad and will be presented with an award at the Super Sunday round five fixture at Doveton Tennis Club,\u201d added Downes.<\/p>\n<p>You can view the<a title=\"ATL Star Performer Award Fact Sheet\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/doc\/atl-star-performer-award-fact-sheet\" target=\"_blank\"> Star Performance Award fact sheet<\/a> for full scoring details and further information.<\/p>\n<p>Tennis Victoria will update each player\u2019s points on a weekly basis, ensuring spectators and players can stay up to date with every result.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is another initiative we [Tennis Victoria] are introducing to help make the ATL the best teams\u2019 competition in Australia.
