{"id":7169,"date":"2012-07-04T13:00:52","date_gmt":"2012-07-04T03:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=7169"},"modified":"2012-07-04T13:00:52","modified_gmt":"2012-07-04T03:00:52","slug":"asia-pacific-tennis-league-to-be-launched-in-november-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2012\/07\/04\/asia-pacific-tennis-league-to-be-launched-in-november-2012","title":{"rendered":"Asia-Pacific Tennis League to be launched in November 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tennis Australia, in conjunction with Member Associations, will be rolling out the Asia-Pacific Tennis League (ATL) competition in November 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Following the success of the 2011 National Tennis League pilot, where this new innovative competition was first trialled with Tennis Victoria, Tennis South Australia and Tennis West, the ATL will operate in all state environments.<\/p>\n<p>In the ATL &#8211; Vic Conference, clubs, associations and centres will have the chance to be part of the six men\u2019s and six women\u2019s teams that will compete in the ATL &#8211; Vic Conference.<\/p>\n<p>Each ATL team will comprise a squad of eight male or eight female players (including one player who must be 18\/u). The competition format will be four singles and two doubles rubbers, with a first to four game set and best of two sets structure.<\/p>\n<p>Players will receive base payments, as well as win incentives for themselves and their club, association or centre. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The winning male and winning female ATL &#8211; Vic Conference teams will compete in the ATL finals played over three days during the second week of Australian Open 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Participants can register for the ATL &#8211; Vic Conference through a centralised online registration process that will open on\u00a016 July. Interested clubs, associations and centres\u00a0can then nominate their team players from this list, starting 31 July. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These are the key dates:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>16 July: Player nomination window 1 opens<\/li>\n<li>30 July: Player nomination window 1 closes<\/li>\n<li>31 July: Club expression of interest and player recruitment window 1 opens<\/li>\n<li>20 August: Club expression of interest and player recruitment window 1 closes<\/li>\n<li>27 August: Successful teams announced<\/li>\n<li>28 August: Player renomination window opens<\/li>\n<li>10 September: Player renomination window closes<\/li>\n<li>11 September: Club player recruitment window 2 opens<\/li>\n<li>24 September: Club player recruitment window 2 closes and final squads submitted to the relevant conference commission<\/li>\n<li>8 October: Draws publishe<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tennis Victoria is currently finalising the five round season (plus a final).
