{"id":7037,"date":"2012-06-20T16:58:28","date_gmt":"2012-06-20T06:58:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=7037"},"modified":"2012-06-20T16:58:28","modified_gmt":"2012-06-20T06:58:28","slug":"harley-pearson-sets-sights-on-college-tennis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2012\/06\/20\/harley-pearson-sets-sights-on-college-tennis","title":{"rendered":"Harley Pearson sets sights on college tennis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Seventeen year old Harley Pearson (Glen Iris) finishes his Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) at the end of the year, but he has already set his sights on American college tennis. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a popular way for top players to make a name for themselves, and Pearson hopes it could lead to a career in tennis. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will try and make it as a pro,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll go over there (to America) and see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pearson has been playing tennis since he was seven, and says his proudest tennis moment was winning the 2011 September AMT Shootout #1 at Boroondara. He is currently ranked 147 in Australia and No.10 in Australia for his 1995 birth year.<\/p>\n<p>It hasn\u2019t been an easy journey for Pearson; he has had a number of setbacks in his career, including a serious back injury.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve had two stress fractures in my lower back,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had one when I was 14, and a year later I had another one.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not easy (to recover).
