In an unprecedented move, the VCTA has announced the allocation for the next four years due to the high quality applications that were received.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on behalf of the VCTA, Tournament Director Mrs Patricia Gilchrist said \u201cWe are delighted to be able to make the allocation for the next four years. The quality of applications was excellent. The players will be delighted to experience the four different venues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Country Week is one of the largest grassroots tennis participation event in the southern hemisphere, playing host to some 200 teams and 1200 players for a week in February each year. Having been hosted previously in the towns of Swan Hill, Wodonga, Shepparton and Yarrawonga, independent economic impact reports have demonstrated that the event consistently injects millions of dollars in financial benefits each year for the local region.<\/p>\n<p>The event is a fantastic opportunity for the local sporting clubs in the community to form partnerships, as previous regions have demonstrated. The event and community flourishes on these partnerships which have involved the local tennis, soccer, cricket and football clubs.<\/p>\n<p>Requiring a minimum of 90 grass courts to operate, VCTA Country Week is a unique event. Participants come from all across Victoria with some travelling from interstate and at times overseas for the event.<\/p>\n<p>Following the VCTA\u2019s announcement, Tennis Victoria Country Participation Manager, Adam Crameri said \u201cTennis Victoria has a long standing partnership with the VCTA and are proud to support a significant event such as VCTA Country Week.
