Tennis Victoria is pleased to formally announce the appointment of Roma Grant<\/strong> to the Tennis Victoria Audit & Risk Committee<\/strong> and Stewart Fenton<\/strong> to the Board of Tennis Victoria<\/strong> in a casual vacancy position.<\/p>\n

These appointments bring a wealth of governance, leadership and community sport experience that will further strengthen Tennis Victoria\u2019s commitment to growing the game across the state.<\/p>\n

Stewart Fenton \u2013 Board of Tennis Victoria<\/h3>\n

Tennis Victoria also welcomes Stewart Fenton<\/strong> to the Board, filling a casual vacancy position.<\/p>\n

Stewart is currently Chief Executive Officer of Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club<\/strong>, a role he has held for almost nine years, working closely with both Tennis Victoria and Tennis Australia. Prior to this, he served for nearly a decade as General Manager of Huntingdale Golf Club<\/strong>, including overseeing multiple Australian Masters Golf Tournaments<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A qualified accountant and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD)<\/strong>, Stewart brings more than 25 years of CEO and General Manager experience<\/strong> across golf and tennis. His long-standing commitment to sport governance and support of clubs is reflected in extensive board and committee service, including:<\/p>\n

    Stewart is also an accomplished athlete, having played and coached hockey at both state and Australian levels, and continues to compete at Masters level. A life-long tennis player, he is a member of Blackrock Tennis Club<\/strong> and Kooyong<\/strong>, and recently competed in Country Week<\/strong>, a standout highlight of his tennis journey.<\/p>\n

    Through his professional work, Stewart has supported many metropolitan and regional tennis clubs undertaking Council rate reviews and providing advice on governance, strategic planning, court surfaces, coaching models, grass court maintenance and day-to-day operations. His experience includes leading large-scale industry electricity tenders that delivered cost reductions of up to 20\u201330%<\/strong> for participating clubs, particularly benefiting regional organisations.<\/p>\n

    On the Board, Stewart will work closely with the current directors and Tennis Victoria executive team to further enhance club support programs and resources. He is committed to applying his practical club management experience to help address the real-world challenges faced by tennis clubs across Victoria.<\/p>\n

    Roma Grant \u2013 Audit & Risk Committee<\/h3>\n

    Roma Grant is a passionate and long-standing contributor to community tennis, currently holding several leadership roles at Caroline Springs Tennis Club<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n

    • President<\/strong> (2024 \u2013 April 2026)<\/li>\n

      Roma\u2019s connection to tennis began as a parent of three players competing through the NSJTA (Hillside)<\/strong> and WRTA (Caroline Springs Tennis Club)<\/strong> competitions. She speaks strongly about tennis as a truly inclusive, global sport, one that provided a welcoming environment for her neurodiverse son after he experienced challenges fitting into another sport. Beginning as a singles player before moving into doubles, tennis helped him build confidence and social connection, highlighting the unique way the sport blends individual and team participation.<\/p>\n

      Following the retirement of a long-standing club president, Roma stepped into committee leadership, allowing her to work closely with families from culturally diverse backgrounds and witness firsthand how tennis fosters community, camaraderie and resilience. Located in Melbourne\u2019s outer north-west within the Melton City Council growth corridor<\/strong>, Caroline Springs Tennis Club continues to benefit from strong investment in tennis infrastructure.<\/p>\n

      Professionally, Roma is Director, Business Service & Enablement at WorkSafe Victoria<\/strong>, where she leads teams across systems, service delivery, projects and portfolio management, vendor and provider management, business planning and risk.<\/p>\n

      She brings significant governance and operational oversight experience to the Audit & Risk Committee and looks forward to collaborating with fellow committee members and Tennis Victoria leadership. Roma will continue her roles as Treasurer and Junior Coordinator at her club alongside this appointment.<\/p>\n
