Congratulations to the following finalists for the Coaching Excellence \u2013 Club or Centre award!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Daniel Walsh and James Wong &#8211; W&amp;W Tennis<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Daniel Walsh and James Wong, through W&amp;W Tennis, have played a major role in strengthening participation, inclusion and performance pathways at Liston Tennis Club since commencing operations in 2025. Under their joint leadership, W&amp;W Tennis delivers a comprehensive, high\u2011quality coaching program that caters to players of all ages, abilities and aspirations.<\/p>\n<p>Participation growth has been a standout outcome. Junior Tennis Hot Shots programs have expanded significantly, junior competition is now at capacity, and Cardio Tennis offerings have more than doubled. In total, W&amp;W Tennis has supported 893 active coaching participants during the award period, with strong female representation (54%) and a balanced spread across junior and adult age groups.<\/p>\n<p>A defining feature of Daniel and James\u2019 work is a genuine commitment to inclusion. W&amp;W Tennis introduced Liston\u2019s first All Abilities coaching program, providing structured and accessible opportunities for players who are blind or low vision, wheelchair users, and individuals with autism or ADHD. This program has realised a long\u2011held club vision and aligns strongly with Tennis Victoria\u2019s inclusion priorities.<\/p>\n<p>Clear development pathways underpin all programs. Players progress from introductory coaching into social play, competition and performance squads, supported by active competition coordination. Since W&amp;W assumed responsibility, junior teams increased by 50%, senior and pennant pathways expanded, and demand for competition opportunities continues to grow.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel and James also place strong emphasis on coach development and safe delivery. All coaches meet Tennis Australia compliance standards and are supported through structured onboarding, mentoring and ongoing professional development. This investment has built a capable, values\u2011led coaching team and ensured consistent program quality.<\/p>\n<p>Through strong collaboration with the Liston Tennis Club committee, inclusive program design and a player\u2011centred coaching philosophy, Daniel and James have made a significant contribution to creating a welcoming, high\u2011performing tennis environment where more people are supported to play, progress and belong.<\/p>\n<h3>Max Lambert and Charlie Corsini &#8211; Victorian Tennis Academy<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Fawkner Park Tennis Centre has experienced record-breaking growth and engagement under the joint leadership of Max Lambert and Charlie Corsini, whose shared Head Coach model has delivered outstanding results across both junior and adult pathways.<\/p>\n<p>Together, Max and Charlie lead a comprehensive, clearly structured coaching program spanning ages 3 through to lifelong adult participation. The junior program saw visits grow from <strong>371 to 474 year-on-year<\/strong>, with entry-level Blue Stage participation almost tripling\u2014ensuring a sustainable pipeline into match play and competition. The centre now operates at <strong>89% junior capacity<\/strong>, reflecting strong retention and progression.<\/p>\n<p>The adult program has reached <strong>1,070 unique players<\/strong>, the highest in the centre\u2019s history, supported by thriving Cardio Tennis, social sessions, structured competitions, and beginner pathways that successfully convert new players into regular competitors.<\/p>\n<p>Max leads junior development, school engagement, inclusion programs, and coach mentoring, while Charlie oversees adult coaching, competitions, and community engagement. Their collaborative leadership empowers a high-performing coaching team and fosters a strong sense of community.<\/p>\n<p>Fawkner Park is also recognised for its inclusive initiatives, school partnerships, Rally4ever mental health sessions, Deaf school programming, and successful fundraising through the VTA Foundation\u2014ensuring tennis remains accessible to all.<\/p>\n<p>Through clear pathways, exceptional delivery standards, and genuine community connection, Max and Charlie have positioned Fawkner Park Tennis Centre as a leading example of coaching excellence in Victoria.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Nicole Bauer &#8211; Bionic Tennis Coaching<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Nicole Bauer is a passionate and highly respected regional coach whose leadership has played a pivotal role in growing participation, strengthening pathways, and building inclusive tennis communities across Briagolong, Longford, Seaspray and Stratford. As Head Coach of Bionic Tennis Coaching, Nicole delivers a comprehensive and accessible program that supports players of all ages, abilities, and aspirations, from first-time participants through to regional and performance-level athletes.<\/p>\n<p>Nicole\u2019s coaching framework features clear, progressive pathways across junior, adult, social, and competition streams. Her junior programs span Tennis Hot Shots (Blue to Green), development and performance squads, girls-only initiatives, and school-based delivery, with more than two-thirds of junior participants engaging in structured matchplay or competition. Adult programs include Cardio Tennis, social and ladies squads, private coaching, and competitive opportunities, ensuring lifelong engagement in the sport.<\/p>\n<p>A defining strength of Nicole\u2019s leadership is her commitment to inclusion. She leads impactful All Abilities programs, Para Standing Tennis coaching, and the innovative \u201cGolden Aces\u201d initiative in aged care and hospice settings, creating meaningful tennis experiences for traditionally underrepresented groups. Her programs have also driven strong female participation growth, increasing female representation to 60% across squads and regional academy programs.<\/p>\n<p>Through strong school partnerships, flexible \u201cpay-as-you-play\u201d access, and hands-on delivery across every program, Nicole has successfully removed participation barriers while increasing engagement across her regional community.
