The very first edition of the Green Ball Series Finals served up an exciting weekend of junior tennis at Melbourne Park on 11 and 12 October 2025. The event brought together young players from across Victoria for two days of matches, learning, and connection, all in the spirit of fun and development.<\/p>\n

Although the weather forecast had predicted rain, in typical Melbourne fashion, we saw two beautiful days of sunshine and smiles. Courts were buzzing with energy as players competed, supported one another, and gained valuable match experience in a friendly, encouraging environment.<\/p>\n

A special guest appearance by Daria Saville<\/strong> added an extra spark to the weekend. Daria spent time chatting with the kids, answering their questions, and sharing insights from her professional journey. She even brought along her famous sausage dog Tofu, who quickly became a crowd favourite, greeting fans with his paws and stealing plenty of hearts.<\/p>\n

Daria<\/strong> offered words of encouragement to the next generation : \u201cYou\u2019re about to compete with each other and just starting your journey so it\u2019s a lot of fun, I remember myself back in those days. Don\u2019t compare yourself on anyone [\u2026], have fun, make friends.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Afterward, it was photo and autograph time, with parents just as thrilled as the young players to meet one of Australia\u2019s most popular tennis stars.<\/p>\n

After a great day of matches, the event wrapped up on Sunday midday with the girls\u2019 and boys\u2019 finals being played on adjacent courts, creating a fantastic atmosphere for spectators who could enjoy both matches simultaneously.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to all players for their wonderful effort and sportsmanship throughout the weekend, and a big thank you to parents and families for their support and enthusiasm courtside.<\/p>\n

To our two winners, well done again. We hope to see you back next year to hand over the trophy to the next champions!<\/p>\n

With plenty of smiles, teamwork, and talent on display, this first edition of the Green Ball Series Finals was a resounding success and a great sign of things to come for Victoria\u2019s next generation of tennis players.\u00a0<\/p>\n
