{"id":41759,"date":"2025-04-16T01:28:46","date_gmt":"2025-04-15T15:28:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=41759"},"modified":"2025-04-16T01:28:46","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T15:28:46","slug":"victorian-blind-low-vision-open-2025-winners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2025\/04\/16\/victorian-blind-low-vision-open-2025-winners","title":{"rendered":"Victorian Blind &amp; Low Vision Open &#8211; 2025 Winners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">The <strong>2025 Victorian Blind and Low Vision Open<\/strong> delivered another exciting weekend of competition, showcasing incredible skill, sportsmanship, and community spirit at every turn.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">This year\u2019s event welcomed five international players\u00a0<strong>Spain, Singapore and New Zealand<\/strong>, highlighting the tournament\u2019s growing global appeal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Number one seed <strong>Courtney Webeck (NSW)<\/strong> once again proved why she\u2019s a top contender, clinching the B2 Women\u2019s Singles title without dropping a game across the tournament. Webeck also partnered with <strong>Oliver Fanshawe<\/strong> to take out second place in the B2 Open Doubles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Mikail Liakos<\/strong> made an impressive debut in the B1 Open Singles, defeating Victorian and doubles partner <strong>Tess Whelan<\/strong> in a thrilling tiebreaker 7(7)\u20136(3). The pair then went on to win the B1 Open Doubles, capping off a stellar tournament for both players.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>More Standout Results:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Oliver Fanshawe<\/strong> had a strong campaign, winning both the B2 Men\u2019s Singles and the Junior Singles Tier 1 title.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Michael Leigh<\/strong> had a busy tournament, taking out the B3 Men\u2019s Singles, winning B3 Men\u2019s Doubles with <strong>Steve Obeid<\/strong>, and also claiming B4 Men\u2019s Doubles alongside <strong>Ross Patterson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\">In the B2 Open Doubles, the South Australian duo <strong>Ethan Cook<\/strong> and <strong>Mark Haskett<\/strong> clinched the top spot.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Grace Hobbs<\/strong> dominated the B4 Women\u2019s Singles and teamed up with <strong>Karen Papanikolaou<\/strong> to win the B2-B4 Women\u2019s Doubles.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\">Congratulations to all players for their fantastic efforts and achievements across the weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">A huge thank you goes out to the amazing volunteers, volunteer ball kids, Tournament Referee Phil Goodman, and all officials who made the event possible.
