{"id":39349,"date":"2024-10-10T14:07:28","date_gmt":"2024-10-10T03:07:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=39349"},"modified":"2024-10-17T09:44:30","modified_gmt":"2024-10-16T22:44:30","slug":"victorias-stars-shine-at-2024-australian-junior-hardcourt-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2024\/10\/10\/victorias-stars-shine-at-2024-australian-junior-hardcourt-championships","title":{"rendered":"Victoria\u2019s Stars Shine at 2024 Australian Junior Hardcourt Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"flex max-w-full flex-col flex-grow\">\n<div class=\"min-h-8 text-message flex w-full flex-col items-end gap-2 whitespace-normal break-words [.text-message+&amp;]:mt-5\" dir=\"auto\">\n<div class=\"flex w-full flex-col gap-1 empty:hidden first:pt-[3px]\">\n<div class=\"markdown prose w-full break-words dark:prose-invert light\">\n<p>Victoria&#8217;s rising stars, Novak Palombo and Raphael Savelli, have emerged as singles champions, while Ana Maric finished as runner-up at the 2024 12\/u and 14\/u Australian Junior Hardcourt Championships in West Lakes, Adelaide.<\/p>\n<p>In the boys\u2019 singles final, third seed Raphael Savelli triumphed over seventh seed Lachlan Rye (Qld), who had to retire after losing the first set.<\/p>\n<p>Top-seeded Novak Palombo lived up to expectations with straight-sets victories in the 12\/u finals.<\/p>\n<p>Cleo Taylor (Qld) claimed the title with a 7-5, 6-1 win over second seed Ana Maric, while Palombo secured his second national title by defeating Aleksandr Kharkov (NSW) 6-1, 6-2.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The level of junior talent this year was outstanding,&#8221;<\/em> said <strong>Tournament Director David Boyes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;We extend our congratulations to all the players for their hard work and dedication, and our thanks to West Lakes Tennis Club for hosting this prestigious event at such a fantastic venue,&#8221;<\/em> Boyes added.<\/p>\n<p>The finals capped off a week-long tournament that brought together 34 junior Victorian players to compete for national titles.
