Jim was a recipient of the Victorian Spirit of Tennis Award in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Jim passed away on 6 May 2024 just short of his 96th birthday.<\/p>\n<p>Jim&#8217;s dedication to tennis was extensive. He served on many committees, including the LTAV (Lawn Tennis Association of Victoria) Council representing Combined Churches.<\/p>\n<p>His keen interest and expertise was in Technical Services, which led to his work with Tennis Australia and the Australian Open.<\/p>\n<p>Jim will be farewelled Thursday 16 May, 10am at LePine Chapel, 741 High Street East Kew.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Victorian tennis community mourns the passing of stalwart Jim Sheppard.
