An incredibly tight contest from start to finish, Barry took the first set in a tie breaker. Parnaby fought back in the second set to force a deciding set. The third set went down to the wire to a tie breaker with Barry prevailing in the end. The three-hour battle in warm conditions pushed both players who then paired up together to contest the doubles final.

The pressure of the singles final only propelled Barry and Parnaby [1] when they took on Ashley Katz and Tenika McGiffen [2] in the women’s doubles final. The fatigue of the three hour marathon singles final wasn’t enough to hold them back taking the doubles title 6-1 6-1.

The men’s singles and doubles finals were both walkovers following an injury to No.1 seed Thomas Braithwaite.

Final results:

Women’s Singles final

Monique Barry [2] def.
