Three Victorian tennis players will compete in the 2024 Australian Open semifinals.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Marc Polmans (VIC) <\/strong>and\u00a0Olivia Gadecki have made their second-straight Australian Open semifinal, after causing yet another upset in the mixed doubles competition.<\/p>\n

Polmans<\/strong> and Gadecki defeated sixth seeds Gabriela Dabrowski and Nathaniel Lammons 6-4 7-6(7) to advance to the final four.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a good feeling to still be playing in the AO,\u201d world No.237 Polmans<\/strong> said. \u201cThis is my last event of the tournament, so I\u2019m stoked to be in the semis.<\/p>\n

Polmans<\/strong> and world No.93 Gadecki will meet the second seeds, world No.16 Desirae Krawczyk and world No.10 Neal Skupski, in the semifinals.<\/p>\n

The Aussie pair are hoping to better last year\u2019s result, when they lost to the eventual championships in the semifinals after holding a match point.\u00a0Polmans<\/strong> said maintaining an attacking game would be key to success in their penultimate encounter.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s definitely going to help having that experience from last year,\u201d Polmans<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n

Another pair of Victorian wildcards, Jaimee Fourlis and Andrew Harris (VIC), will feature in the other semifinal.\u00a0<\/strong>Fourlis and Harris upset 5th Seeds Laura Siegemund (GER)\/Sander Gille (BEL) 7-5 7-5 in a\u00a0thriller<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
