A <\/strong>Tennis Talent Search Day <\/strong>will be held on Sunday 8 May, 2011 for\u00a0novice junior players (aged 6 to 11).<\/p>\n Talent Search Days <\/strong>are one part of <\/strong>Tennis Victoria\u2019s Talent Search and Development initiatives which target and identify athletes from tennis circles as well as children from other sporting backgrounds. Talent Search Days have been set up to allow a wide range of children from all parts of the community to participate and will complement tennis-based talent identification programs already in place for the many thousands of players already involved in the sport.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Talent Search and Development program creates opportunities for children from both tennis backgrounds as well as those from other sports and gives them a chance to let their skills and talent shine,\u201d said Kim Kachel, Tennis Australia\u2019s National Talent Search and Development Manager.<\/p>\n \u201cTennis Victoria is delighted to be involved with Tennis Australia in this innovative program. We are conducting Talent Search Days in an endeavor to discover athletic ability from a wide pool of talent. We are thrilled to continue the 2011 Talent Search Program in Taylors Lakes in order to unearth a champion player,\u201d said Ashley Naumann, Tennis Victoria\u2019s Talent Development Manager.\u00a0<\/p>\n Places are limited to the first 48 athletes aged between 6 to 11 years-old (as at 31 December 2011) who would like to be tested over a broad range of athletic and tennis skills.<\/p>\n
