The 2023 Victorian Tennis Awards took place on Tuesday 17 October at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club. Celebrated by hundreds of members of the Victorian tennis community, 15 awards were announced.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tennis Victoria<\/span>\u202f<\/span><\/i>CEO Adam Crameri<\/span>\u202f<\/span><\/i>was thrilled to recognise the award winners and finalists in front of the Victorian tennis community.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCongratulations to all the winners of the 2023 Victorian Tennis Awards. We had incredible nominations put forth by the Victorian tennis community and having the opportunity to recognise the finalists and winners tonight was an honour.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A highlight for me was seeing Victorian Player of the Year, Heath Davidson recognised for his great year on the tour and Julie Fidler recognised with the Victorian Spirit of Tennis Award. Julie is an icon of Victorian tennis and seeing her celebrated by the community and her family and friends was wonderful.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hume Tennis and Community Centre continue to be a leading tennis venue in Victoria and this was cemented with their win in the Most Outstanding Club or Centre category.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Club Awards, the winner of the Most Outstanding Club or Centre<\/strong> was the\u202fHume Tennis and Community Centre<\/strong> and the\u202fMost Outstanding Tournament<\/strong>\u202fwas the\u202fAustralian Seniors Individual Championships<\/strong>. The\u202fCoaching Excellence \u2013 Club or Centre award<\/strong>\u202fwas won by Tina Keown from the Victorian Tennis Academy<\/strong>. Ferntree Gully Tennis Club<\/strong> won the Most Outstanding Inclusion Initiative <\/strong>for their All Abilities Program.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the athlete categories, Michele Hill\u202f<\/strong>won the\u202f30+ Tennis Master Award<\/strong>.\u202fThe\u202fJunior Athlete of the Year<\/strong> Awards<\/strong>\u202fwere won by\u202fDaniel Jovanovski<\/strong>\u202fand for the third time in a row, Roisin Gilheany<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Adding to his Victorian Player of the Year<\/strong> nod, Heath Davidson<\/strong> also took home the\u202fMost Outstanding Athlete with a Disability\u202faward.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Volunteer Achievement<\/strong> award was won by\u202fHayden Eastwood <\/strong>from Castlemaine Lawn Tennis Club<\/strong> and Excellence in Officiating<\/strong> award went to\u202fQuincy Davis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Maribyrnong College<\/strong>\u202fwon the\u202fMost Outstanding School\u202f<\/strong>award and winning the\u202fSupporting Tennis \u2013 Local Government Award\u202f<\/strong>was\u202fWyndham City Council<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Victorian Tennis Awards, delivered by\u202fTennis Victoria, align with the Australian Tennis Awards. Victorian Tennis Award winners with a national category\u202fare now eligible to be nominated for the\u202f2023 Newcombe Medal (the Australian Tennis Awards). \u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
