On Wednesday 2 August Elwood Tennis Club’s Jill Steele was presented with a Tennis Service Award in recognition of her wonderful contribution to tennis. <\/span><\/p>\n

Jill has been a valued member of the Elwood Tennis Club since 2000, she joined the committee in 2001 and became the Secretary in 2002 – a position she still holds.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jill is always willing to take on projects and participate. She organizes teams, manages bookings, liaises with Local Council and has been on numerous upgrade projects such as court resurfacing, new lights, solar panels, grant applications and club house refurbishments. Most recently, Jill has done an outstanding job negotiating the new book a court system.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the court Jill has been a tennis player since the age of 7, playing for Elwood TC in the Bayside Tennis Association and has represented Victoria in Australian Tennis Seniors Championships. She has played in a number of premierships over the years both in mixed and mid-week women\u2019s competition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jill is a wonderful ambassador for the sport of tennis and a respected member of the tennis community. She has invested her heart and soul into the club and is appreciated for all her hard work. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Congratulations Jill on being recognized for your significant service to the sport of tennis in Victoria and in particular the Elwood Tennis Club.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
