{"id":31455,"date":"2023-06-26T00:28:30","date_gmt":"2023-06-25T14:28:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=31455"},"modified":"2023-06-27T04:04:28","modified_gmt":"2023-06-26T18:04:28","slug":"seven-victorians-going-to-wimbledon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2023\/06\/26\/seven-victorians-going-to-wimbledon","title":{"rendered":"Seven Victorians off to Wimbledon!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Congratulations to the seven Victorian&#8217;s heading off to Wimbledon next month!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Out of those seven, we have 1 in the Women&#8217;s draw, 1 in the Quad Wheelchair draw, 1 in the Men&#8217;s Doubles, 3 in the Qualifying and 1 in the 14\/U Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to Daria Saville who has qualified for the Main Draw in the Women&#8217;s Singles! After an incredible comeback from ACL surgery nine months ago, Dasha will be playing her first Grand Slam Tournament since U.S Open last September.<\/p>\n<p>John Peers will be competing in the Men&#8217;s Doubles, <b><span lang=\"EN-US\"><i>*Final doubles entries TBC,\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-US\">and Heath Davidson will be competing in the Quad Wheelchair draw after a fantastic season and finalist in the Men&#8217;s Doubles Final at the French Open earlier this month.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Lachlan King has earnt a Main Draw spot in the 14\/U Junior&#8217;s &#8211; an incredible effort!<\/p>\n<p>Held one week prior to The Championships, the Wimbledon Qualifying Competition is comprised of Men&#8217;s and Women&#8217;s Singles competitions to determine the final Main Draw places for The Championships 2023. To secure a Main Draw place, players compete in a knock-out tournament and must win every one of their matches across three rounds to earn one of the 16 Championships\u2019 places in each of the Gentlemen\u2019s and Ladies\u2019 draws.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Qualifying Competition takes place from <strong>Monday 26 June to Thursday 29 June<\/strong> at the Community Sport Centre Roehampton.<\/p>\n<p>Jaimee Fourlis and Arina Rodionova will be competing in the Women&#8217;s and Marc Polman&#8217;s will be compeiting in the Men&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>The Wimbledon Main Draw begins <strong>Monday 3 July to Sunday 16 July.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to all who have qualified and good luck to our qualifiers!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to the seven Victorian&#8217;s heading off to Wimbledon next month!
