Welcome to the January<\/span>\u202f<\/span>Edition of Tennis Victoria News, I hope you are all enjoying the summer of tennis and hope you enjoyed a great holiday period.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A massive congratulations to those that have been successful on and off the court across the last month, we have had many of events delivered with strong participation.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Monday December 12, <\/span>five Victorians were announced as winners<\/span><\/a> at the Newcombe Medal (Australian Tennis Awards). Congratulations to Heath Davidson, Aitken Creek Primary School, Craig Tyzzer, Euroa Lawn Tennis Club and Jarrod Broadbent for winning their respective categories.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Congratulations also to Victorians <\/span>Stefani Webb (18\/U Singles),<\/span><\/a> Jenson Yokota-Ho (12\/U Singles)<\/span><\/a> and Daniel Jovanovski (14\/U Singles & Doubles) for successful December Showdown campaigns last month at Melbourne Park.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the weekend we experienced a fantastic 67<\/span>th<\/span> Inter-regional Country Championships at Yarrawonga Lawn Tennis Club. Congratulations to <\/span>Loddon Campaspe for winning the championships <\/span>after an amazing 554 matches in just three days!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking ahead and we have the Kooyong Classic starting tomorrow, Tuesday January 10 through to Thursday January 12 in what will be a great showcase of our high quality tennis. To purchase tickets to the Kooyong Classic, please <\/span>click here.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hume Tennis & Community Centre will also be hosting some great tennis across January, including a <\/span>celebration of Wheelchair Tennis across 10 days. The event will start with the Victorian Open Wheelchair Open from January 10-14 followed by a come and try Wheelchair Tennis session on Sunday January 15 and the Melbourne Wheelchair Open from January 16-20. <\/span>Please click here for more information.\u202f<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
