Congratulations to North Sunshine Tennis Club who are the Affiliate of the Month for June 2022.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

North Sunshine TC have been successful in the recent SRV Local Sports Infrastructure Funding to gain much needed funding for their clubroom upgrade.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Together with Brimbank City Council, the club has worked collaboratively to seek letters of support from Tennis Victoria, local Community Groups, local schools and many others to demonstrate the community impact their facility provides.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s been a long journey to this point, with comments regarding these updates in documentation dating back to the early 1990’s. The club proudly advocates for tennis within the community, and also for accessible spaces for all.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When asked what the funding means to the North Sunshine TC, Club President John Harvey said \u201c<\/span>Our club is thrilled with this funding announcement. This grant together with our club’s substantial contribution\u202fwill\u202fensure our facility caters for people of all abilities for\u202fgenerations to come. After many years of fundraising we are thrilled to be getting disabled toilets, change rooms for all and a renovated\u202fkitchen \/ canteen.\u202f Brimbank Council and Tennis Victoria staff can be proud of the way they\u202fcame together with our club to ensure we optimised the design outcomes.\u202f\u202fOur state and federal members Natalie Suleyman MP and Dr Daniel Mulino MP have been most supportive to ensure the significant gaps in our basic facilities were corrected.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our 85 year old club is so proud to still have a foundation (and Life) member in Laurie Mottin, an integral part of our club life. Laurie often reflects on the club’s humble beginnings at our Garnet Street base. It reminds us all of the importance of showing gratitude to so many members past and present who have worked so hard to achieve this outcome over many decades.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Hon. Ros Spence MP, Minister for Community Sport and Youth recently announced the funding grant for North Sunshine TC onsite at the club together with Brimbank City Council Mayor Peter Maynard.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
